When used, the Mines pickup rapidly deploys five explosives behind the user's ship. On their own, each mine will cause minor damage and slowdown, but hitting the entire cluster can stop opposing ships in their tracks.
weapon description
The Mines are a Pickup that, when used, rapidly deploys a trail of five small explosives behind the ship. Individual Mines do not cause much damage but collision with multiple mines, or the entire trail, may cause severe shield damage and slowdown to the receiving craft. Their deployment allows for multiple applications of the weapon; For example, one may place an entire trail of Mines into a turn, making the turn significantly more difficult for approaching craft. This Pickup's versatility, bundled with it's high pickup rate, make Mines a threat on the Track that any pilot should constantly be on the lookout for.

weapon trivia
Unlike any other Pickup, Mines can't be picked up while in last place.
Mines are shaped like three-dimensional six-pointed stars, making them resemble caltrops. In fact, Mines work very similarly to caltrops, in that they slow down and damage victims. Caltrops, unlike Mines however, are usually placed in a Horizontal formation.
